Correct: Fröhliche Weihnachten or Frohe Weihnachten
What's the difference between the two? One looks masculine and one feminine.

Dutch - Vrolijke Kerstmis

This one is gramatically okay, but in general people don't use it like this. They are more likely to say Vrolijk Kerstfeest.

It's fun reading up on all the ways to say merry Christmas b.t.w., so cool tread!

I love learning how to say "Merry Christmas" in other languages. Would it be possible for you to maybe type it out, phonetically, so we could know how to pronounce it correctly, in English? That would be great. Thanks for posting.

For those who were curious about Alegre and Felize navidad. According to my Girlfriend who is native Spanish speaking, Alegre means merry or cheer while Felize is Happy .. so .. in a nod to our UK friends, Felize Navidad isn't Merry Christmas but HAPPY Christmas (though it's all the same)

In Bulgarian it's "Весела Коледа" in cyrillic letters and "Vesela Koleda" in latin letters. It's pronounced exactly as it's typed. :santa:

Very informative list! Christmas greetings can be said in different languages but the real meaning is the same. Christmas seasons simply convey giving and love and should remind us always with its true meaning.

Hi in 2020!
In Malaysia, it's "Selamat Hari Natal" :tree1:
But we use English anyway, because mostly only English-speaking Malaysians celebrate Christmas.. It doesn't snow, it's just sunny/rainy all year round.
So it's nothing about snowman or fireplace, more of family get-together, gifts, turkey and cookies! :presents3:

Oh, the pronunciation..

Se - la - mat -- Ha - ri -- Na - tal
(ser)(la)(mat)--(ha)(ree)--(na)(tal)

silent the 'r' in (ser), pronounce all 'a' as how you'd sing 'fa-la-la-la-la'
