Well done!

What did you find?

Well, I got several books for my husband, gifts for all four children, calendars for all their spouses, Playmobil toys for three grandchildren, a toy for another grandson, and a book for my friend. I have to get my mom something and gifts for the other seven grandkids.

This post inspired me to start my shopping - I just bought the first gift I'm going to give this Christmas on eBay!

Its so much easier than rushing around in December trying to find something for everyone! Besides, the more I buy now, the less tight my budget will be later!

Thanks Marshmallow World for the motivation!

Because of you I started searching the internet for how to go about my first Christmas Present idea.

Idea:
My boyfriend and his best friend want to make a 3 week road trip through Eastern Europe(Slowakia, Poland, Hungary etc.) in the spring and I wanted to do something for him to encourage and support him in this. I searched and thought a little and now I pretty much have figured out what I will give him:
- A guide with cheap hostels and information on cities/nature in Eastern Europe
- An anwb(traffic organization) book about rules and regulations on the road in those countries
- A guide with cards/roads in Eastern Europe.
- A piggy bank with a small amount of money in it as a start of their fund.

I've bought little things. It's so hard with Birthday's all the way up to Dec. 6. One a month. I think, hmm, should that be for their Bday or Christmas? And then, as I said before, they Keep Changing their minds!!!!!!!!!!! The other thing is, some things you can't return after a certain amount of time.

Oh how I would love to be done my shopping already!:gelf:

On my blog, Kris Kringle For Singles, I showcase gifts and entertaining decor that I search the internet for. European landmark ornaments, affordable and unique supplies for entertaining, cookbook gifts, and more.

You're welcome!

I don't enjoy rushing from one place to another, and with so many, many grandchildren, I'd flip out if it all had to be done in a short time. I love seeing all the gifts wrapped and placed under the tree or stacked in the guest room until I put them under the tree. Right now they're in shopping bags in the guest room.

Normally I would be almost done by now, but:
1. Extended family is cutting WAY back this year due to the bad economy
2. No young kids anymore. Youngest niece is 12 oldest is 26!
3. My kids (16 and 25) are asking for money

So I only have a few actual gifts to buy. I guess I'm waiting for the rush!

Well, that's not really so funny. I'm embarrassed that I can't spend more; people get such little gifts from me. We have so many grandchildren.

I done about half of mine too! I always finish with the gifts for my girlfriends and mom and sis first. Girls are so much easier to shop for! I'll have to put on my thinking cap and see what to get for kids ... they're not mine and I don't really know what kids like these days. :elf2:
The worst part is getting pressies for the guys! I always feel that my gifts for them are so unoriginal.

I HATE buying for guys, too, unless they give me a list. And it's very difficult to get a list from a guy. They either don't know what they want or they want something no one can afford. But this year my husband told me exactly what books he wants. I'm glad that he likes to read. One year he gave me a list of DVDs that he wanted.

When you're desparate to know what kids are into, ask online. I've had to do that. Or give them gift cards.

Actually, it's a little hard to be inspired when the Christmas decorations are barely out yet in the malls. :elf2: But I'll be heading down south to Singapore in less than 2 weeks and I hear the Christsas stuff is out in full force there! :dizzy:

Hopefully I'll have some nice (tropical) Christmas-sy photos to show you guys when I get back!
