how much you think to spend per person, for xmas present?

For me it depends on the person and how much I have to spend. Usually I usually buy for:
- My boyfriend: €50 - €100(=$70 - $145)
- Our dog: €5-€10(=$7 - $15)
- My parents, brother and sister: €10-€15 p.p.(=$15 - $20)

However there are years in which I find it very hard to stay within that budget. If I see something really nice and it costs more I usually buy it anyway.

I'm like you, ikey2, I don't have a budget. Yes, I should, but I do layaways and try and pick up things through the year, so that helps. :santahat:

hmmmm, i spend far to much every year, i usually plan on spending around £300 on each of my children and i have 2 and £300 boyfriend, but last year i ended spending £600 on each of my kids and £500 for my bf, so i went well over budget :jumping:.

LOL....I like your style, Kimmy. While I don't really stick to a budget, I try and make things equal with everyone.

I don't really budget either. At all. I pretty much just start buying stuff early in the year with a bit of the extra money we've got; I'll take a few dollars here and there and buy a present for someone, stick it in my stash, and forget how much I spent!

Usually I spend about $1200, but as this year is the first since I split from my husband I'm bugeting for half of that. The hard part will be to not go over board shopping for my son - I want Christmas morning to be as normal as possible for him, but it'll be hard to not over compensate.

It depends on the person. For immediate family it's $20-30. And for friends, coworkers, etc. it's less. Usually I can get a great deal that is WORTH alot of money.

Generally people spend money on Christmas gift depend on their income. Now a days people are facing recession problem so i think this time budget for Christmas is going quite less.

It really depends on who I'm shopping for:
Son: $100-200
Husband: $100
Parents: $50 ea.
Nieces/Nephews: $20 ea.
Coworkers/teachers: $10 ea.
Pets: $5 ea.

Looking to spend around $700 this year. :presents1:

I may sound cheap but I bought for everyoneunder $7.00 each but I was only required to buy for the kids. so I don't care. I jst have to buy for the dogs and put money back for Roy he wants to go shopping together around the week before christmas by then I should be up and about after surgery.

I can't budget, that word is not in my vocabulary. I get in trouble every Christmas morning when all the gifts are opened. My Husband has a bird. What's a girl to do? I'm a Christmasfreak in every sense of the word. I truly need Rehab!:presents3::presents2:

I think this year I will spend the same amount as last year (about $600-$700). The only difference is this year I am going to try to pay with cash only! My budget per person is as follows, but will differ depending on what they want, etc.
3 siblings- about $50/each
Dad-about $50, Im not very close to him
Mom- not sure. she does so much for me. maybe about $150? shes hard to buy for.
Boyfriend of 4 years-depends on what he wants, last year I spent about $300 on him, but he wanted some expensive things.

Ill probably end up going over budget as usual, but the smiles on their faces christmas morning will be so worth it!!:elf1:

I will spend near the same amount this year as last, $750 or so. I never charge Christmas gifts anymore, at one time I did so and I would end up paying for months, Lesson learned.

I could really do with setting a budget but I never do.

I make a list of the things I would like to buy - but end up buy other bits and still get the items on the list.:presents2:
