I used to use the bows that are aleady made and have sticky stuff on them. Now I try to make my own bows and fancy ribbons. :presents2:

I don't really decorate my gifts. People just tend to tear through them and don't really take any time to see what I have done so I don't do it anymore.

I like bows on the gifts so that they'll look pretty when I take a picture of the tree. I usually use the pre-made ones, but I often use narrow ribbon and make a simple bow. That's what I use on decorative boxes that don't have to be wrapped. It holds the lid on so people don't peek.

Thank you.

Back in the seventies, we had a traditional style red velvet sofa(regular velvet, not crushed) with no wood showing. The drapes were solid white with white dotted red sheers. I guess I was being dramatic with my decorating. When Christmas came it looked like a winter wonderland, and the dots on the sheer curtains reminded me of falling snow. That's what made me buy the ribbon for that gift. The other side of the snowflake says "To" and "From."

EllfGirl and Tink, you are so kind. One of my biggest complaints is thinking I'm not creative enough. I think I just get lucky once in a while.

Marshmalloworld that is such a simple and great idea!
I have to send most of my gifts out of the country, and homeland security doesn't want us to wrap them anymore, so I don't. When I give local folks presents, I just use those gift bags.

I have an aunt that uses ribbons like that or even fancier ones. She's creative and good at tying them and making them look nice. Maybe I will try that this year. I usually just wrap them, tie a simple one-color ribbon on, a bow (cheap ones) and a tag. I should do something different this year because I don't plan on buying too many gifts anyhow - low on funds:( Usually, I spend the money on the gifts and not so much the gift wrappings.

I try to wrap the gifts as soon as I buy them. Then I add ribbons and bows just before they go under the tree. This way nothing gets crushed!

I can't say that I've used string, but I love wrapping gifts in all different ways. I also like to make it pretty at every level of opening. It takes me awhile. :santahat:

I agree, gummgirl, it's hard to watch someone just tear through a gift, without noticing all the work you put into it. I usually know who those people are and wrap accordingly. ;)

I would love to learn how to tie those big, fancy ribbons for a change. I always use the cheap, narrow ones. I don't like how they look but I use them because of the extra effect it creates.

People usually appreciate not how the gift had wrapped but whats inside it . but i love to see the gift wrapped very well and nice .

There have been times where I do not want to unwrap my gift, as it is so wonderfully wrapped...

I always take the time to wrap presents nicely! I love it! But Im not to crafty when it comes to making bows or anything, so I just use the ones with the sticky part on the back :)

Also my mum is amazing at wrapping and decorating pressie...no matter what the shape.

This is a collected items that have bows on it.
I made it from etsy's treasury feature.
Might be helpful in some bow or gifting ideas. ^^:smitten:
